St. John Paul the Great Academy is the most affordable private school in Connecticut's Northwest Corner.
A St. John Paul the Great Academy education is a meaningful investment in your child's future. It requires commitment, and we believe wholeheartedly that its return lasts a lifetime.
At St. John Paul the Great Academy, students are formed in mind and character within a Catholic intellectual tradition — gaining the skills, judgment, and grounding to become thoughtful learners and principled leaders. Your investment opens the door for your child to an education that shapes both who they are and who they will become.

$8,000 per year
Tuition is paid through the FACTS Management Site. Families may choose to pay in-full at the start of the school year, or enroll in a 10-month payment plan for an added fee of $55/year.
Affordability
St. John Paul the Great Academy knows that not every family's financial circumstances are the same. We believe tuition should be approached with both responsibility and justice.

All families are eligible for a multi-student discount and it is automatically applied.
Additionally we continue to be blessed to offer multiple scholarships per-year. Families are notified of those available for the upcoming year, their requirements, and application deadlines through all of our channels of communication so students can apply.
JUST Tuition Program

Most impactfully, our Just Tuition Program is one of the distinctive ways St. John Paul the Great Academy works with families who desire a Catholic education for their children but may still not be able to afford the full published tuition.

Just Tuition is not free tuition, nor is it simply a discount. It is a partnership between the family and the Academy.Families who apply are asked to provide their household financial and tax information so that we can understand their actual financial circumstances. We then work together to determine:

What is just for the family to contribute, and what is just for the Academy to carry?
The goal is not to remove sacrifice from Catholic education. Every participating family is expected to make a meaningful contribution according to their ability. At the same time, we do not want financial circumstances alone to prevent a child from receiving a St. John Paul the Great Academy education when a reasonable partnership can make it possible.

How to Apply for Just Tuition
Families seeking consideration to utilize the Just Tuition Program must start by submitting a written request to the Pastor (pastor@sjptga.org) to begin the application process.

The process is straightforward, and confidential:

Submit a written request explaining a desire to be considered for Just Tuition.

Provide current household financial and tax information so that financial need can be evaluated fairly.

Meet personally with the Pastor for a confidential conversation about your family's circumstances to determine an appropriate tuition contribution.

If approved, enter into a tuition agreement reflecting your family's determined contribution.
Do not assume that St. John Paul the Great Academy is beyond your family's reach simply because of the published tuition. We invite you to speak with us. If you desire a Catholic education for your child and are willing to partner with us, we invite you to begin the conversation.

A Message from
Our Principal
Hello St. John Paul the Great Parish, my name is Edward Goad and I am beyond excited to begin work as principal of your distinguished St. John Paul the Great Academy.
I come from a family of educators, as my dad was a retired public school teacher and my mom is a retired Catholic school teacher. I currently reside in Monroe, CT with my wife and two sons of the ages 5 and 2.
Prior to SJPTGA, I spent 14 years at St. Bernadette School located in New Haven, CT; 10 of which as Middle School History and Religion Teacher and four as Principal. I received my undergrad and graduate degree from Southern CT State University and Educational Leadership credentials through the University of Creighton and Fordham University.
I would like to thank Fr. Emmanuel and the search committee for the opportunity and promise to be a hard working, energetic, loyal, and visible leader and presence in our community. I look forward to many years serving as your principal and working alongside the many talented educators and dedicated school board to make St. John Paul the Great the most prestigious STREAM Academy in Litchfield County and all of the Archdiocese of Hartford.
As the newest member of the St John Paul the Great Parish family, I look forward to our meeting, our future conversations, and the sharing of ideas. I am excited to get to work and help our students and school reach their highest potential in a safe, secure, and nurturing environment.
